Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé Provence 2019
One of the best rosés in the world, year after year! Lucien Peyraud, who is almost single-handedly responsible for the creation of the Bandol appellation as well as the resurgence of the mourvèdre grape in the region, owned the estate for 60 years. It's still in family hands, and continues to produce the best rosés and red wines in all of Provence.
Rosé is seldom thought of as "serious" wine. And indeed much of the world's rosé is meant to be simple, porch-pounders, even when from Provence. Tempier has notes of juicy peach, tart ruby red grapefruit, and pink peppercorns. It's a great all-around pairing for a well-stocked holiday table, but will age for a few years as well (seriously).
